Human Hearts

Human HeartsI don’t know what it’s called when one raises up on the high hat on the offbeat, but it ends up sounding kinda like disco, but probably isn’t anywhere close. I should ask Ms. Hipster what that is, as she plays the drums, but I’m lazy. Anyway, there’s a lot of that going on here. Which means it’s a funky beat and you can dance to it. It’s not as if every song here is a dancefloor burner, though, as they certainly have their more emo moments as well. Kinda sounds like a Promise Ring / Dismemberment Plan mash-up. Oh wait, it is. The album isn’t going to blow anybody away with its uniqueness or sensibilities, but it is a very listenable pop record and Davey von Bohlen improves his singing with each album.
