Atmosphere is not Pablo’s strongest suit. We were actually wondering at what garage sale they picked up the tables and chairs they use in the dining room (not to mention the bad tablecloths and decorations). But, really, who needs awesome surroundings when you’re eating decent, inexpensive Mexican food? In order to distract you from the dreary surroundings the restaurant supplies you with a live mariachi band that strolls through the restaurant playing traditional Mexican folk tunes. They seem kind of out of place in a low-rent place like this, but their company does somehow make the fajitas taste a little more authentic. So, if you have a hankerin’ for Mexican, don’t feel like spending a ton of dough, and don’t care about aesthetics, come on in — just hopefully not on a date or anything. [MF]
