There wasn’t a single party in the early 90’s that didn’t feature at least a couple spins of “Groove Is in the Heart.” I’m not even sure what other songs are on this album, as this is the only thing that people ever wanted to hear, but the song was omni-present and often requested. Featuring a cameo by Q-Tip and a goofy appearance from Bootsy Collins in the video, this single is pretty much worth the price of the CD alone. I’m really surprised we haven’t heard 42,000 remixes of this song, as I could still imagine the club kids listening to it today. It always felt a little drag-showish to listen to this thing, but if the chicks dug it, we dug it.
