It’s kind of like The Rentals meet 12 Rods. I’m not sure where that gets us other than into the land of 80s retro weirdness–as if the album cover isn’t enough of a give-away. It almost feels at times like this guy is messing with us, like the music is less earnest and more some practical joke on all these throw-back junkies. If the songs weren’t so pop-a-licious, I might be more skeptical. Pop it in the car CD player and pretend you’re back in high school. It’ll be rad!
