I’m not really certain how to categorize BOAT’s music. It’s like hipster goof rock. This stuff is really catchy and really pop-oriented, but has a silly edge that sometimes borders on the absurd. But despite its wackiness, there is a real heart behind the music, which is often sweet and almost always unique and honest. And damn entertaining more than anything else. Who said that levity in our music is a bad thing? We can’t be all wa-wa, my fuckin’ heart all the time. I mean music is often based on pain, but sometimes celebration ain’t bad.
