I’ll take some reverb, and lots of it! I mean how else are you going to make a great-sounding retro record? Lace the thing with awesome, dreamy indie pop songs and you have a really decent little album. This isn’t going to blaze any trails with its Colin Hay / Urge Overkill singing and swinging tempo changes, but sometimes you don’t want challenging; you just want pleasant. I’ve learned in my old age that o-ffensive ain’t always the way to go.
