This album is a beautiful mess. At least that’s what BTS would like you to believe. In the crazy like a fox kind of way these guys make music, this messiness is just a side-effect of genius. Indie pop songs that feature quirky lyrics, cool, simple production and guitar work that never gets old after years of play. This is the stuff that made me fall in love with Built to Spill. I know maturation is supposed to be the earmark of a good band–and many would consider their later work their true work–but I just love the looseness of this album, and the fun rock ruckus that they bring.
