What sounds like it should be an object sitting on Marcia Brady’s dresser is actually a hip, East Village bar with personality to spare. Don’t bother looking for a sign outside, as there isn’t one. Don’t bother looking for an eight-foot bouncer with tons of attitude, as there isn’t one of those either. What you will find is a cool bar with a friendly bartender, a room in the back complete with couches and a pool table, music that won’t deafen the neighbors and an actual mix of twenty-something guys and gals who are just here to chill and soak up the atmosphere. Unlike some of its neighboring bars, it looks as though the owner actually spent a few dollars to make this place inhabitable for human beings and has skipped the lower east side kitsch. [MF]
