Springing up faster than the clap at a co-ed boarding school, Cosí and its $9.00 sandwiches has become the fastfood choice of the New York whitebread community. If it weren’t for this place’s special crack-sprinkled bread, there would be picketers and constant bomb-threats from the throngs of angry consumers sick of artificially inflated Manhattan prices. Despite the ridiculousness of paying almost ten bucks for what amounts to a piece of crunchy, oven-baked bread, we can’t ignore the addiction factor. [MF]
