The Park Bar is a tiny, little box of a room situated just off of Union Square, an area amazingly devoid of decent places to get a drink. Luckily, this gem opened up to not a lot of fanfare and really seems to draw an after work crowd from about a two square block radius of the bar. For patrons this means not a ton of suits, not a ton of bridge and tunnel jerks and not a ton of room, as the place gains popularity through word of mouth. It’s a truly unassuming space with nice mirrors and molding adorning the walls, decent prices and a friendly bartender. It’s hip without being snobby, and packed without being a meat market. Overall it rates as a great place to meet a couple friends for a few drinks, or finish off the night in style. [MF]
