The Lovin' Cup Cafe
The Lovin' Cup Cafe
[CLOSED]

I will come right out and say that I’m by no means a local when in Brooklyn. In fact, I feel like a bit of a fish out of water walking around the streets of Williamsburg checkin’ out the ridiculous outfits and look-at-me antics of some of its residents. But then there are places like The Lovin’ Cup that feel like what you’d hope to find in your neighborhood no matter where you live. All beat wood and vintage lighting, the place is snug and cozy and terrifically homey and normal. As luck would have it I was actually introduced to the Lovin’ Cup only by way of having to walk through it to go see Dirt Bikes rock out at the Cameo Gallery, a performance space which is impossibly hidden down a hallway from the restaurant’s bathrooms. I drank like many beers in the “venue” and then retired to the cafe to grub. Where I was farsighted enough to order a deeeeelicious Everytime Burger. Which was basically a grass fed Black Angus burger with cheddar and caramelized onions and excellently seasoned fries. Straightforward in approach, but tasty as hell in result. The menu is certainly small, but I understand this is a decent brunch place, and definitely strikes me as a great place to grab a burger or a shot of tequila late night if you live anywhere in the area.
